TMj DISORDER
Disorder of the Temporomandibular joint can cause a multitude of symptoms. Clenching of the jaw or teeth grinding whilst asleep or during periods of anxiety can be associated with recurring headaches and migraines. Clicking, popping or even locking of the jaw, facial pain, tinnitus, a sore throat with no infection or discomfort when yawning or swallowing all have origins of soft tissue/ fascial restrictions, which can be treated successfully.
Using a variety of advanced clinical massage techniques both intra and extra orally, around the head, neck, face and shoulders clients can experience relief from symptoms in as little as 1- 6 sessions, gaining an awareness of in many cases, long held tension in areas that have never been touched.
These sessions are outcome based and last from 75-90 minutes allowing for postural and gait analysis and discussion of previous history. Home care and exercise advice can be given for inbetween sessions until desired results have been achieved, whereby a maintenance programme can be set long term.
